Tenant & Landlord Responsibilities
Tenant Responsibilities:
- Pay rent on time.
- Pay all utility charges (gas, electric, and water) unless otherwise agreed.
- Maintain the lawn, landscaping, and handle snow removal.
- Keep the premises clean and safe.
- Avoid creating unsafe or unsanitary conditions in common areas.
- Dispose of ashes, trash, and garbage in a clean, safe manner.
- Keep all plumbing fixtures in the home as clean as possible.
- Do not destroy, damage, deface, or remove any part of the property, and do not allow others to do so.
- Follow all applicable building and housing codes.
- Take responsibility for any damage to property inside the home.
Landlord Responsibilities:
- Provide possession of the premises to the tenant at the start of the lease.
- Pay the mortgage, property taxes, insurance, and condo association fees (if applicable).
- Comply with all current building and housing codes.
